吉田光江さん（横浜市、金曜クラブ）からご提言をいただいて
司馬遼太郎の『二十一世紀に生きる君たちへ』の和英翻訳をしました。
和英翻訳を終えてしばらくたってから、
実はこの本はすでに翻訳出版されていることがわかりました。
「ロバート・ミンツァー氏訳 / ドナルド・キーン監訳」（Ｄ訳）の翻訳でした。

そこで、この名訳と坂井の拙訳（Ｓ訳）をおそれながら恥をさらして比較させていただき、
和英翻訳練習帖とさせていただきたくお願いいたします。

おそらく、自然に対しいばりかえっていた時代は、
二十一世紀に近づくにつれて、終わっていくにちがいない。

（S訳）
Probably the time of
「human dominance→humans' assumed dominance」

　▼実施趣旨
　長野県上水内郡信濃町の一茶菩提寺・明専寺の月原香代子氏は、一茶が詠んだ３０
０近い句の中から１６句を選び、長野市で喫茶店を経営する河端寛子氏に依頼して、
句に詠まれた物語を再現する手作りの「一茶とかえる」１６点を創作、平成１８年１
０月、「第４回一茶の俳句コンサート」の特別展示として明専寺にて初公開しました。
これが海を渡り、平成１８年１１月、フランスのパリで開催されたフランス俳句協会
主催の「一茶の夕べ」でも公開され、評判を呼びました。
　小林一茶没後１８０周年を迎える今年、１８０匹の蛙の手作り人形を一茶双樹記念
館で展示し、特に子どもたちにも向けて、一茶や俳句に対する興味・関心を喚起する
ほか、一茶ゆかりの信濃町、さらに国際的な俳句文化の広がりなどについても紹介を
する予定です。

（ 参　考 ）
★一茶双樹記念館について
　俳人小林一茶は、味醂醸造家であった秋元双樹（三左衛門）との交流のため、たびたび流山
市を訪れました。その交流を記念して、平成７年、一茶双樹記念館が開設され、当時の秋元家
や双樹亭、一茶庵、庭園が再現されています。
　「秋元本家」は、幕末ごろの下総地方の商家建築を再現した、寄棟造り瓦葺きの２階建ての
建物で、一茶や双樹についての資料や、流山にゆかりの深い産品である「みりん」に関連した
資料を展示しています。
　「双樹亭」は、安政４年ごろに建てられた秋元家の書院を解体復元した、数奇屋風造りの建
物で、「おくのま」「なかのま」「おちゃのま」と東南西にまわる縁側からなります。
　「一茶庵」は、寄棟造り瓦葺きの建物で、床の間と平書院を持ち、切り炉のある八畳の和室、水
屋を持つ四畳の和室、広々とした縁側からなります。茶会はもちろん、俳句会・短歌会などにも利
用されています。

川原 一紗さん（熊本県玉名市）のＣＤ「おとのわ」

自作の曲をピアノ弾き語りで演奏されるアーティスト。アメリカ・日本全国で活動中。
「歌による調和とコミュニケーション」をテーマとして、平和、地球、自然、故郷、和、
つながりをコンセプトにライブ活動を行っておられるお方です。

尺八、チェロ、三味線、ヴィオラ、ガムラン、ジャンベ、カリンバ、フルート、馬頭琴、
ピアノ、音楽家以外にも、映像、絵、書、食、ダンス等様々なアーティストとの
コラボレーションを展開中。

2004年　○アメリカ・ニューヨークへ音楽留学。
2005年　○ダライ・ラマ法王１４世の来熊記念ドキュメンタリー映像の音楽を
　　　　　　ピアニスト重松壮一郎氏と共に担当されました。

久我雅紹先生のご自著「詩集　神々への参加」
には、「西洋文学」のクラスでご披露される
さまざまのギリシャに関する音楽が紹介されています：

そのうちから
サティの「ジムノペディ」、ドビュッシーの「牧神の午後への前奏曲」、
ミキス・テオドラキスの「ゾルバ」、グルックのオペラ「オルフェとエウリディーチェ」
からの「精霊の踊り」を聴きました。

「ゾルバ」もいいですね。
「精霊の踊り」、これもすてきですね。
美しいメロディです。
春の訪れをも連想させる「かろやかさ」「のびやかさ」「すがすがしさ」を感じました。

もうすぐ春ですね。
