能動態・受動態を使い分けされている。
英文らしさを出してゆくには、

これによって、
原詞に込められているはずの言外の意味内容を
明瞭に訳出して、
英語圏のひとびとに
誤解がおこらないような配慮をしている。
しかし、
この英訳詞は、
この場合、
必然的に元の日本語よりも
具体性が強くなりすぎて、
多くの日本人がもつ《俳句的感性》からの逸脱を
赦している表現としてしまっているようにも見える。
英語は論理を尊重する、と言われる。
すると、
英語歌詞ではこういう釈明補足表現も
必要になるのかもしれない。
論理的具体的な表現のほうが
たぶん英語圏の人々にとっては
好ましいものなのであろう。
しかし、
これが突出してゆくと、
もしかしたら
人間が普遍的にもっているかもしれない
「俳句的感性」を
希薄にしてゆくことになるのかもしれない。

千葉高士大兄さまからのワシントン便りです：
日本と同時期に当地も今春爛漫でポトマック河畔の桜も満開です。
当地のワシントンポスト紙に面白い記事が出ていましたので下記要約します。
１．尾崎東京市長からの桜は当初１９１０年にワシントンに届いたが防疫が十分でなく焼却処分された。
しかし、若干の苗はHains
Pointというゴルフ場に植えられ現存している。
２．２回目の苗は１９１２年にタフト大統領夫人によって植えられ、お礼にアメリカからハナミズキの苗が
日本に送られた。
３．第２次世界大戦中は木が折られたり桜も "オリエンタルチェリー"と呼ばれ、１９４２年から１９４６年まで
桜祭りは中止された。現在の桜の大敵はビーバーである。
４．尾崎元東京市長は１９５０年にワシントンを訪問されたが花の季節ではなかったので、１００歳になられ
たら花の季節に再訪を約束されたが実現を見なかった。
※千葉大兄様は、英文対訳「鳥は飛ばねばならぬ」の書を
クリントン大統領におとどけくださり、同大統領からの
直々の御返状を受信してくだされたアメリカ通、ワシントン通で
あられます。あの頃からずっともうワシントンに御住みで、
